  10. VisualPrefs is a patch which allows you to customize with great freedom
  11. many aspects of the look of the Amiga GUI.
  12.  
  13. If you do want to see for yourself what VisualPrefs is able to do, just
  14. take a look at the preview image supplied with this archive.

  16. Using a comfortable preferences editor, you can configure many details like:
  17.  
  18. · different light/dark colors for active or inactive windows edges
  19. · the thickness of all four window borders (also with system gadgets)
  20. · the height of window/screen titlebars regardless of the font height used
  21. · the system gadgets style (also for MUI/KingCON/ClassAct titlebar gadgets)
  22. · the exact look of the BOOPSI and GadTools 3D frames
  23. · the look of GadTools proportional gadgets
  24. · the position of window titles (centered in dragbar or in whole titlebar)
  25. · the fill color of inactive window borders
  26.  
  27. ... and also other interesting things. By the way, VisualPrefs contains all
  28. the functionality (and more) of my previous patches Prop3D and CenterTitles.

  30. You can configure individually the GUI of each different screen opened
  31. by your applications, as well as define a global GUI look.

  33. I know there are other programs doing some of this, but none of them has
  34. all the features offered by VisualPrefs.

  40.          "FullPalette" program, which is also on Aminet, currently

  47.    · The patch for the ClassAct iconify gadget didn't work with the latest
  48.      release of ClassAct. Now this is fixed.

  50.    · Now VisualPrefs patches DirOpus 5.5+ titlebar gadgets. Only tried it
  51.      with Magellan, but it should work also with previous releases. Hope you
  52.      like the new "padlock" image...

  54.    · Now you can choose to install a 68020/030 or 68040/060 version of
  55.      VisualPrefs and GUI.

  57.    · Some optimizations to the code of certain patches.

  59.    · No more crashes with MUI "screen close" gadgets.

  61.    · The screen titlebar doesn't get corrupted anymore under CyberGraphX 3
  62.      with the SUPERLAYERS option on.

  64.    · The GUI editor now correctly fills the bottom scroller's hole in the
  65.      preview area if you select the "Fill recessed areas..." option.

  67.    · Now the GUI editor allows for fonts with an height smaller than 7
  68.      pixels; the new limit is 5 pixels.

  70.    · GadTools arrow gadgets didn't get patched if their width or height was
  71.      smaller than 10 pixels; now the limit is 9 pixels.

  73.    · The image of CheckBox gadgets sometimes did overwrite part of the
  74.      border.

  76.    · Added a workaround for a bug in the V39 gadtools.library concerning the
  77.      displaying of the contents of number gadgets. Hope it works!

  79.    · The "Global" menu is now correctly updated when you select "Last saved"
  80.      from the "Edit" menu.

  82.    · The rendering of MUI titlebar gadgets should now be somewhat faster.

  84.    · Added a patch for MagicMenu 2.19+ allowing to vertically center the
  85.      menu titles in the screen bar.

  87.    · Added the possibility to inhibit the use of the Template.

  89.    · Added public "tbiclass" image class for use by programs such as ViNCEd
